About

There are few scenes in movies that leave a truly lasting impression.

For 6-year old me it was the opening sequence of "The Blues Brothers" when John Belushi walks out the front gate of Joliet Prison:

A lone simple guitar riff accompanies the small, angry figure as he walks from the hell of prison towards the salvation of music, all while the prison fades away and he is engulfed by bright, pure light.

This arguably innocuous scene helped me understand at this early age how music can shine a light on the emotion the film maker is wanting to convey and what a good film score is really is: Lighting for Emotion.

My love and fascination for music and film scores is what brought me to the US, first on the East Coast as a working musician and studio owner, and, eventually to the West Coast, to Los Angeles.

In LA I sharpened my skills working in various parts of the scoring and audio post world - working for esteemed composers like Danny Elfman and Bear McCreary, as well as scores of projects for Netflix, Disney, Hulu, HBO and many others.

Those experiences gave me a unique, and rather broad understanding of musical and sonic storytelling, as well as a deep love for the art of creating the emotional bedrock for the story being told through music and sound.
